Title:
"Crosses on the Hill"

Genre:
Documentary

Writer:
Kristine Bell

Director:
TBD

Synopsis:

CROSSES ON THE HILL, is inspired by the story of Louise Clark, an affluent grandmother and 40 plus year resident of Lafayette, Ca. She is the owner of the land where more than 5,000 crosses stand, each a reminder of a soldier who has fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. With the help of a small, dedicated group, new crosses are placed on the quiet hillside every other Sunday.

Whether your political opinions about the war coincide or contradict Mrs. Clark's efforts, the importance of opening a dialogue that addresses how war effects and defines us as a society as well as the too often muffled sacrifice that soldiers make in the name of our freedom and safety, is indisputable.

CROSSES ON THE HILL will be shot in the Bay Area, using qualified crew and equipment, with the goal of creating a critical film for submission to national and international festivals. All seed money raised will insure the continuation of the development and outreach process, as well as garnering attention and support for those most intimately touched by these complicated wars.

The elevator shudders to a stop. Within minutes it plummets down the shaft, just short of crashing.

Knocked unconscious, the passengers rise one by one. This close to death, they can't do anything but wait. Huddled around a radio they discover an earthquake is to blame. Eventually, they learn a killer may be among them. Tensions rise and alliances shift as suspicion becomes certainty.

The angst increases as the police seem unwilling to rescue them or otherwise remedy the tense situation. Their terror becomes the police interrogation tool: the police refuse to bring them up until the killer is identified.
